I’m Abby Hagyard… That’s me in the foofy feather boa

How THIS for a refreshing change? When you work with me, you have one-to-one access without all the agent/agency red tape. You get to talk to me directly – explain who you are and what you need – and together we brainstorm your one-of-a-kind, custom-tailored entertainment.

Why You Care… For starters, I’m a child of the military. They call us BRATs. It’s not about our attitude – although there IS some truth in that. It means that we’re “Attached Travelers” … we travel on and under the scope of our parents’ service transfers. When things go off the rails, we are resilient survivors: we learn to find our way through uncertain times, through wars and loss and grief and confusion, to become the people we were meant to be.

Thanks to all the “to and fro” – seven countries, twelve cities, ten schools – I can do 10 solid stand-up minutes on not being able to find my house and another 10 on “I can’t tell the difference between forever and four-thirty.” After that, I can do 10 more on what it takes and why it’s so important to carve our own definitions of “joy” and “abundance” and permit ourselves to live them to the fullest.

The remarkable gift about BRAT gypsy life is the way it teaches you what you stand for. You learn really fast that nothing lasts… except your reputation. That follows you no matter where you go… because, sooner or later, you run into BRATs with memories like elephants.

That was the #1 reason why, when I worked at Playboy Magazine (gasp), I turned down their offer to pose. I didn’t want to live in the shadow of “OMG, Miss November, right?” for all eternity.

When I took on a TV role that no one was supposed to see and Nickelodeon’s You Can’t Do That On Television became the most famous kids’ show in history… the US Armed Forces TV network picked us up. I got to look like a witless Mom twice a day, seven days a week in FIFTY-THREE different countries. People are watching it on the internet now. I know, I know… (sigh) Hello, Eternity!

There were SO many kids – And they just seemed to keep on coming!!

Why DO Show Biz Folks Do More Than One thing?
Mostly, we’re trying to keep from starving!

My accidental trip-stumble-fall into show biz has kept me busier than ten normal folks put together. Playboy in New York City taught me all about marketing. Modeling in Miami taught me how to work a runway. Morning Drive radio hosting taught me how to get up at WHAT TIME IS IT??? seven days a week and like it. And an intrepid team of TV and Stage producers took me under their wings and I learned how to make audiences glad they came. I’d voiced a bunch of cartoons and documentaries while writing screenplays, TV treatments and live shows when I said, “BOOKS!!”

So I launched AH PUBLISHER – my very own boutique publishing house! In the decade+ that we’ve been in business, we’ve produced beautiful memoirs, mysteries, children’s books and romantic comedies… all available on Amazon.

I wrote the book on FAME, interviewing 20+ people who’ve lived their lives in the spotlight (published in 2017), because being famous for something is the one thing we all have in common. A documentary film crew came to our launch and we were featured in The Orange Years, a behind-the-scenes look at The Nickelodeon Network.

I created a Fame Coaching service (Now What? Strategies) for people who’ve made a name for themselves and hit a wall. After they work through the shock and disappointment, I help them get excited about their What if…? opportunities. Think about it: At some point, we’ve all been a household name, even if it was just at our house. We all wear labels of one kind or another and spend so much time trying to live them up or down.

What’s Happening Now Is Triple-A Amazing

STORY ME TV

For me, as a career entertainer and, as STORY ME TV Executive Producer, the COVID-19 pandemic was a wake-up call. For my friends in the performing arts industry, who live precariously, day by day, it was life-changing. For others, it was a sudden AHA that our craving for physical closeness is the way we cope when we’re overwhelmed by the longing to belong and the heartbreak of feeling lonely.

Out of that terrible time, an idea emerged that made me see a remarkable opportunity to design a strategic SHOW BIZ 2.0 Strategy before we need it. After a year in the making, I’ve come up with a bold new audience-interactive idea in web entertainment programming.

Story me TV is a ‘lockdown proof’ online network for creative people whose talent and passion are the magic that makes all things possible. We offer a unique menu of audience interactive shows, dynamic fan engagement and irresistible short form content (Snackable) designed for our global audience-on-the-go. We have TWO subscription categories and FIVE programming platforms with awesome shows in development and several more ready to go.

When Abby Speaks…

When you reach out to me, because you need a speaker, you get to talk to me directly. Together, we come up with the twist on your message that gives your people a brand new reason to smile. Whether I share my serious survival tales or hilarious trainwreck moments, I guarantee that I’ll have your people saying, This woman is more fun than I’ve had in a long time.

I’m offering my Celebrity Speaker and other services in conjunction with Story Me TV as a way to extend the reach of my vision. Why? Because every single one of us needs more than a reason to smile. Today, we need tangible proof that we matter … that our voices are heard … that every day we have the opportunity to choose to belong to a tribe that cherishes who we are … to make the magic that makes everything worthwhile.
